The Crystal Ballroom History
A premier wedding venue in the Fox Cities located at the intersections of Highways B and BB in Hilbert (also listed as St. John), WI, was built in 1928. Initially named the Stommel Auditorium, the building has been many things within its first 80 years. From ballroom and auditorium, to tavern, and finally a warehouse. The Lauers bought the space in 1995, renovated it, and re-opened in 1997 as the Crystal Ballroom. With its tall windows, crystal chandeliers, and performance stage, the Crystal Ballroom is a beautiful event space. However, its statement piece is the fully restored 2,500 square foot floating hardwood dance floor.
Our goal at The Crystal has been to help our clients realize their unique and personal visions for their special events whether it be a wedding, celebration, party, shower or anniversary. We’re in the business of creating experiences you and your guests will want to remember forever. We believe that every element of your celebration should be special, starting with the venue.
About Us
Our
Story
Eric and Dana Krueger are the co-operators of The Crystal and Revel Dance Academy LLC. They married in 2008 and later welcomed their daughter Stella to the family in 2013 and son Paul in 2016. The couple moved to the Sherwood area in 2016.
Dana has been teaching dance to all ages in the Fox Valley for over 20 years. She opened her first studio, Revel Dance Academy, in Sherwood in 2018. After overcoming the challenges of the pandemic, the new growth of the studio posed new space challenges at the previous location. Not only did the Crystal provide a solution to this problem, but also offered additional dance opportunities. Eric, a lifelong Fox Valley musician, saw additional potential with the building and bringing live music and community events to its doorstep. The couple plan to continue the dedication and love the previous owners, Paul and Lisa Lauer, commited to The Crystal. Their legacy will continue and Eric and Dana hope to cherish the property in the same way they did.
